Chapter 53: The Wheel Turns

Dawn reveals the Green Man's garden dying, but Loial sings a Tree Song that preserves the oak above his grave. The party rides south through a subdued Blight and finds spring returning to the land.

At Fal Dara, soldiers celebrate a miraculous victory at Tarwin's Gap—the earth swallowed the Trolloc army. Moiraine tells Lord Agelmar the Green Man is dead and the Eye is gone, but shows him the Horn of Valere, which must be escorted to Illian.

Seven days later, Rand tells Egwene he is leaving—not for home, but somewhere alone, fearing what he might become. Egwene and Nynaeve will go to Tar Valon for training.

In the garden, Moiraine uses the blue stone from her hair to listen, then whispers: 'The Dragon is Reborn.'
