Chapter 32: Four Kings in Shadow

Rand and Mat perform at The Dancing Cartman in Four Kings. A sleek, wealthy man—Howal Gode, a Darkfriend—corners them in a barred storeroom and demands they submit to the Dark One as future Dreadlords.

Lightning strikes the iron bars, blasting the wall apart and killing Gode's men, and Rand and Mat escape through the shattered opening into the storm.
