Chapter 27: Shelter From the Storm

Perrin spends several restless days with the Tuatha'an as Elyas insists on waiting, claiming something tells him it is important. Egwene passes the time dancing and socializing with Aram, who gives her a string of blue beads and eventually tries to convince her to stay with the Traveling People. Perrin's awareness of the wolves grows sharper each day.

He dreams of Ba'alzamon burning a wolf to ash, declaring 'The Eye of the World will consume you' and hurling a raven that pierces Perrin's eye. The wolves share the dream and howl at dawn.

Elyas declares it is time to go. Raen senses trouble and decides to take the wagons east toward the Spine of the World, and after a formal farewell ceremony, the three depart with the wolves, who communicate their shared experience of Heartfang—the Dark One.
