Chapter 27: Shelter From the Storm
Perrin chafes at the days spent with the Tuatha'an while Elyas insists on staying, saying only that something tells him to wait. With Trollocs and Fades hunting them, Perrin hates that they are endangering the Traveling People, who will not so much as defend themselves.
Egwene spends her evenings dancing with Aram and accepts a string of blue beads from him. The Tinkers' eyes always flick to the axe at Perrin's belt, and he takes to keeping his cloak thrown back so the half-moon blade is plain. His awareness of the wolves sharpens by the day.
He dreams of Ba'alzamon burning a wolf to ash in Mistress Luhhan's kitchen, naming the Eye of the World and flinging a raven that pierces his eye. The wolves share the dream and howl at dawn.
Elyas says it is time. Raen, uneasy at the sky, turns the wagons east toward the Spine of the World. Aram tries to talk Egwene into staying and she refuses. At the parting, Elyas startles Raen by speaking the Tuatha'an's own line about finding the song.
